East Jakarta PN Named Suspect to Urban Villages Partner

East Jakarta State Court (PN) named RM (40), a partner to five urban villages in East Jakarta, namely Cijantung, Jati, Pulogadung, Ceger, and Kayu Putih, as suspect in the case of alleged City Budget (APBD) corruption in 2012. For his misconduct, the state suffered loss as much as Rp 200 million.

Head of East Jakarta State Court Special Crime Section, Sylvia Desti Rosalyna, said that RM used more than five companies. But after being checked, some of those companies are fictitious. Not only that, the activities exist in urban villages and sub-districts were not done 100 percent. As a matter of fact, there were four activities not done totally, but the budget was taken by the suspect and unruly urban village official who had been determined guilty earlier.

“The companies the suspect used are more than five. Some of them are fictitious while others were borrowed from someone else. There were many activities in urban villages which have not been done, but the budget for it was still taken,” uttered Rosalyna, Wednesday (8/20).

Moreover, Rosalyna detailed about those activities. In Pulogadung Urban Village there were two activities which not done at all, while in Kayu Putih Urban Village there were four activities not carried out fully. Some of the activities were human resources improvement in planning division and urban village community healthcare guidance. The budget for those activities was ranging from Rp 25 million until Rp 100 million.

For his misconduct, RM is sanctioned with article 2 verse 1, article 3 jo 55 Law No. 31/2009 on Corruption Crime Act Eradication. He is threatened for 20 years of imprisonment.

In addition, Rosalyna disclosed that her party is currently also questioning Head of Pulogadung Sub-District, Teguh Hendrawan, as a witness thus far. The official cannot be asked for confirmation since he is still under investigation in East Jakarta State Court Special Crime Section room.
